Premiere of Scott Ryan - “Vanishing”

The day is finally here. After dozens of claws to the flesh, hundreds of miles on the road and countless hours in post production the music video for Scott Ryan’s “Vanishing” is now ready to be seen on youtube, vimeo and jdialfilm.com
In case you didn’t already know I’m not a big time filmmaker and Scott Ryan is no rock star…at least not yet. But we thought it would be a good use of our time to make a music video for a track off of Scott’s new EP Tree Man.
After a failed attempt to do a video about an actress and an alternate reality, we started talking cats. Well I guess I did. It’s one of my obsessions. We decided on a documentary-style video about a person stumbling upon a huge community of cats. I began searching for a place that had many of these furry felines and found The Cat House on the Kings. Thanks to the founder Lynea Lattanzio and her generosity I traveled with my actor, Andres Gonzalez Rojas, a fellow filmmaker and filmed on the grounds for a day. Since this was a real place and I was filming animals I tried to keep things simple and not have too many expectations. The thing that made this shoot really special was the experience of seeing something I’ve never seen before. The experience was exciting, different, challenging and unpredictable. I hope through this video I can share a taste of what that experience was like.
Many of our good friends are making their status for the day the youtube link to the video. If you want to be a good friend consider doing the same http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-m8lRoGEr8
The Cat House on the Kings is a place that is doing so many good things. It’s clean, legitimate and most importantly a no-kill sanctuary. Literally they’ve saved over 18,000 cats and 5,000 dogs. Please consider helping The Cat House on the Kings.
Read Scott Ryan’s blog about the song and his take on the video. Also check him out on myspace, facebook and twitter.
BIG THANKS TO:
Scott Ryan, Lynea Lattanzio, The Cat House on the Kings Staff, Andres Gonzalez Rojas, Brent Gudgel, Dave Mahanes, Nate Smith, Dan Portnoy, family, friends and all of our four legged friends.

i love this video and the music, it’s all so original and real. i have 2 siamese kittens- brothers- that i adopted from the cat house and they are great kitties. in fact, lynnea saved the whole very young litter from extermination at the SPCA just in the nick of time.
i sure want to see more collaboration between this filmmaker and musician! wonderful, earthy stuff!

I loved your video. It is beautifully done. I really hope it goes viral - you both deserve accolades for your artistry. And kudos for your portrait of Cat House on the Kings, and getting their story out there! If an image could be created of the Rainbow Bridge, this would be it… heaven on earth for the innocents.
